Sometime between September 2010 and the end of December 2010 I received medical, dental, and legal clearance, but not sure of actual date. There was also an additional trip to the Dr.'s office for more blood work to be done, but I don't want to start ranting about that that.

December 8th, 2010- Submit updated resume.

December 29th, 2010- Have final Peace Corps interview where I find out 1.) That my application is being deferred until I can get at least 30 hours of experience tutoring people basic computer literacy. 2.) Also, my program for the Caribbean/Latin America is full and that I should start investigating Peace Corps programs in Africa. 3.) Finally, after taking French in high school and switching to Spanish in college, that I should start to brush up on my French skills. (I can specifically remember my mom telling me after I was complaining about French in high school, "Just wait, you're gonna end up having to use this someday." Oh the irony!)

January 4th, 2011- Find a position where I can get my experience tutoring and do my research on Peace Corps programs in Africa. Being flexible is very much a part of the Peace Corps and this just seemed like another obstacle to mentally clear to get to my dream of being in the Peace Corps. I'm ready for an adventure!

January 5th, 2011- My placement officer e-mails me and is encouraged by my efforts at finding a position tutoring and informs me that she is willing to offer me an invitation to serve in a Computer/IT program in Francophone Africa in a program that departs on June 1, but she needs to know that I will follow-through and acquire the additional skills as outlined.

January 8th, 2011- I inform my placement officer that I am interested in this invitation and agree to acquire the necessary skills should I accept.

January 10th, 2011- Placement officer responds that she will be sending out my invitation this week!

January 12th, 2011- Invitation finally arrives at my parents house! It is then transferred from them to my brother and finally to me after a long night of work wondering what country lay inside my invitation.....CAMEROON!!

January 19th, 2011- Principal of my high school allows me to get my hours of experience tutoring at the high school so I can move back home with my parents! Do my research on Cameroon, review all of the materials in my invitation packet and take my full week to make sure I was completely sure this is what I wanted to. I'm in baby!

January 29th, 2011- Send in updated resume and aspiration statement to my country service desk.

February 2nd, 2011- Contacted by my country desk that I need to reformat updated resume. Send in re-formatted version that night.
